Hello and welcome to the blog site of Outback Chef. Here you will find lots of information about Australian bushfood and also be able to add your own comments and ask questions.
On this site I'm going to add a lot of new and exciting recipes and some traditional ones, but with the addition of Australia's great bushtucker herbs and spices, direct from the bush.
Let me know how you go with your cooking and feel free to tell me some of your recipe tips that can be shared with others.
Also, there will be lots more about our Aussie bushtucker.
The more that we use our native foods the better it is for our environment. So if you havn't tried any yet, give it a go.
I’ve been running www.makingtracks.com.au (specializing in Australian art and craft) for many years, and my involvement in Aboriginal art and culture for over 20.
I learnt a lot about bushtucker from the Aboriginal women, and thru their vibrant and colourful paintings. These paintings not only increased my knowledge, but also fueled a desire to go further with Australia’s native bush tucker..…OUTBACK CHEF has been a natural and passionate progression.
I was originally from the land in country Victoria, and grew up with a love for art, food and cooking, which I’m still more than passionate about. Mum was a great and innovative cook, she taught me a lot and encouraged experimentation where the good, the bad and the downright unedible can happen!!!
Thru Outback Chef I hope that I can encourage people to get cooking, and just give our bushfood a go.
My company, OUTBACK CHEF, is about providing Australia’s fantastic native food to the world.
